The economy and trucking industry continue to show mixed signals about what lies ahead, but that uncertainty hasn’t slowed things down here at HAQM Freight.
Here are some of the top happenings from across the business:
1. HAQM Freight is Newell Brands’ New Carrier of the Year
Earlier this year, Newell Brands named HAQM Freight as their “New Carrier of the Year.” The award recognizes HAQM Freight’s ability to meet, and often exceed, Newell’s performance expectations when it comes to pick-up, delivery, and tender acceptance. It is also a reflection of how HAQM Freight can flex its assets up and down as Newell Brands’ demands change. By tapping into the HAQM pool of 50,000 trailers and carriers, assets are readily available when Newell Brands needs them.
This comes after HAQM Freight was elevated by Newell as one of their “tier 1 carriers” last year, a designation reserved for only their highest-performing freight providers.
“HAQM Freight has impressed us every step of the way and been praised by teams across our sites,” says Steven Judge, Newell’s Director of Transportation. “It’s not just our inbound to HAQM transportation needs they have served, but also our inter-facility deliveries. It’s resulted in smoother and faster shipping, and we are excited about this long-term relationship.”
“We always tell our customers that we deliver their freight like our own, and I am proud to see that promise in action and HAQM Freight being recognized with this award from Newell Brands,” says Jim Ruiz, HAQM Freight’s Director of Sales and Operations. “It’s testament to our tech, our people, and our relentless focus on the customer to meet their needs.”
2. Refer a shipper and earn
Do you know a fellow shipper who hasn’t tried HAQM Freight yet? If you are a current HAQM Freight customer, and you refer a new shipper who signs up and completes their first shipment, you’ll receive a $150 HAQM gift card. Plus, your referral also gets a $150 gift card.

3. New report: shippers relying on tech to book freight
How satisfied are shipper’s today when it comes to the process they use to book their freight? That was the question FreightWaves and HAQM Freight sought to answer in our joint paper, Out with the Old: Shippers Ready to Embrace Streamlined Booking Options. It was based on a survey conducted among shippers big and small to see where challenges and opportunities lay in their operations.
While shippers are still holding fast to their desire for shipping reliability, the paper also sheds light on the new tech used in booking, the role of customer service, and the shortcomings of booking via email. Get the full story by downloading the paper here.
